To sell an SSC mock test series online, build every mock to the current pattern of one exam and tier. For CGL, that now includes the sectional timers SSC brought in for 2026. Offer each paper and its solutions in Hindi and English, and sell packs that match how aspirants prepare: by exam, by tier and for a full exam cycle. A free mock with real analysis brings students in, and good bilingual analysis brings them back.

Build to the exam and tier, not to "SSC"

SSC runs many exams, and each has its own stages, sections, timing and marking. A generic "SSC mock" trains the wrong habits. Build separate mocks for each exam and tier you sell, and rebuild them whenever a new notice changes the pattern.

CGL shows how much detail matters. Here is what a CGL mock has to copy under the 2026 pattern:

StageWhat it containsWhat the mock must copy
Tier 1100 questions in four sections of 25: reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude and English; 200 marks in 60 minutes; 0.5 marks deducted per wrong answerA separate clock for each section, with no way back once a section closes
Tier 2, Paper IMathematical abilities and reasoning, English and general awareness, a computer knowledge module, and a data entry speed test in a second sessionSeparate sections with their own timers, Tier 2's own negative marking, and a typing task for data entry
Tier 2, Papers II and IIIStatistics, and general studies (finance and economics), only for candidates applying to specific postsSeparate add-on packs for the students who need them

CHSL, MTS, GD constable, Selection Post and stenographer exams each have their own patterns and skill tests. SSC has also offered MTS and CHSL papers in 13 regional languages, besides Hindi and English, since 2023. Check the notice for each exam on ssc.gov.in before you build or rebuild a mock.

Skill tests deserve their own practice. The CGL data entry speed test and the typing tests in exams such as CHSL are timed keyboard tasks, not multiple-choice papers. Students who prepare only on a phone may meet a full keyboard under time pressure for the first time on exam day. A simple timed typing practice, in English and in Hindi where the exam allows it, is a useful add-on for these packs.

Sectional timing changes how mocks must work

Until 2026, CGL Tier 1 gave candidates one 60-minute pool for all four sections. Students could move between them, for example doing English first and leaving maths for the end. Under sectional timing, each section has its own clock, unused minutes can't be carried over, and a closed section can't be reopened.

A mock that still runs on one 60-minute clock trains a strategy that no longer works. Your test engine needs to:

  • run a separate timer for each section and move the student on automatically when it ends;

  • lock finished sections so they can't be revisited;

  • report time used and marks for each section, so students learn to pace inside each block;

  • keep older single-timer papers only as practice for exams that still use that format, clearly labelled.

When SSC changes a pattern, students judge a test series by how fast it adapts. Put a short dated note on each mock saying which notice it follows.

Bilingual papers and solutions

Many SSC aspirants prepare in Hindi, so a Hindi version is not an extra. Store each question with its Hindi and English versions together, so students can switch language mid-test without losing answers, and everyone appears in one rank list. English comprehension stays in English, as in the real exam.

Translate the solutions too. A Hindi-medium student who gets English-only explanations has been sold half a product. Ask a Hindi-medium teacher to check every quantitative and reasoning question, because a badly translated condition in a puzzle can change the answer. Use Unicode Devanagari throughout, never images of Hindi text, so questions display correctly on low-cost phones.

Pricing models for an SSC test series

How you package the series matters as much as the price you set. These are the common models, and each suits a different student:

ModelHow it worksSuitsWatch out for
Free mockOne or two full mocks free, with full analysisBuilding trust and a list of interested studentsGive real analysis, not a teaser, or it puts students off
Single exam packAll mocks for one exam and tier, valid until that examStudents focused on one examValidity must survive delays in the exam calendar
Tier-wise packSeparate Tier 1 and Tier 2 packs, with an upgrade pathStudents who first need to clear Tier 1The upgrade shouldn't cost more than buying both at the start
Multi-exam passOne subscription covering several SSC exams for a fixed periodStudents applying to many SSC examsEvery exam in the pass must be kept current
Sectional packsTopic and section tests onlyStudents fixing one weak areaEasy to undersell against full mocks
Course plus test seriesTests bundled with lectures and notesYour existing course studentsDeep bundle discounts make the standalone pack look overpriced

Tie validity to the exam cycle, not only to a number of months, because SSC dates move. Publish an extension rule for postponed exams before anyone asks. Collect fees through your own payment gateway, so the money and student data stay with you; our guide to payment gateway charges in India explains the costs.

Analysis and ranks aspirants pay for

SSC aspirants watch their rank closely, and good analysis gives them a reason to renew. A useful report includes:

  • an all-India rank among test takers, with the number who took the test shown next to it;

  • section scores set against the time used in each section;

  • accuracy and negative marks lost, section by section;

  • question-wise solutions in both languages, with short videos for hard quant and reasoning questions;

  • a comparison with top scorers' attempts and time split.

Be honest about what the rank means. SSC normalises scores across shifts, and real cut-offs depend on vacancies and category. Your rank compares students only with your own test takers. Present it that way, and never promise selection on the strength of a mock score.

Selling and protecting the series

A free mock on a fixed date, announced to your own student community, is a natural way to start. Run it in the same interface as the paid series, so students see exactly what they're buying, and deliver the results and analysis on time. Publish the full test calendar in advance; students plan their preparation around it.

Then protect what you sell. Test series packs are easy to share: one paid login passed around a hostel, or paper PDFs forwarded to Telegram. Limit devices per account, watermark solution PDFs with each student's details, and run ranked mocks in fixed windows. Our guides to preventing students sharing accounts and preventing test series leaks cover the details.

Upclass Mock Test lets you sell online test series alongside courses, live classes and tests. It all sits in branded apps in your institute's own name on Android, iOS, Windows and Mac. Fees go to your own payment gateway. VidSafe adds visible and invisible watermarks that are extremely hard to remove, even after heavy re-encoding, so a leaked copy can be traced back to the account it came from. It also brings PDF watermarking and account-sharing prevention. See Upclass Mock Test and how it works for SSC and banking coaching.

Frequently asked questions

Does SSC CGL have sectional timing now?

Yes. From the 2026 cycle, each CGL Tier 1 section has its own clock, and a section can't be reopened once its time ends. Tier 2 also has separate time limits for its sections. Check the current notice on ssc.gov.in, and make sure every mock you sell follows it.

Should an SSC mock test series be in Hindi and English?

Yes. SSC papers are set in Hindi and English, apart from the English language sections, and many aspirants prepare in Hindi. Store both versions in each question so students can switch during the test and appear in one rank list, and translate the solutions as well.

How many mocks should an SSC test series include?

Enough to cover the syllabus several times under exam conditions, but quality matters more than the headline count. A useful series mixes full mocks, sectional tests and previous-year papers on a published calendar. Students gain more from reviewing each mock properly than from taking one more.

Can I sell an SSC test series without a course?

Yes. Many aspirants buy test series separately from courses. A standalone series has to stand on its solutions and analysis, and a free mock is the natural way to show their quality before students pay.
